Early termination charges apply for any Plusnet business phone service cancelled within the minimum term.
From 24th June 2021, following a change to HMRC rules, early termination charges will be subject to VAT.
Price changes apply to early termination charges. See Price Changes below for more details
Early termination charges are calculated as follows:-
- monthly charge (factoring in any monthly discount to which the customer is entitled), which is exclusive of VAT;
- reduce the charge to take account of any costs saved because of leaving early, such as wholesale costs;
- deduct 1% for early receipt of payment;

No charges normally arise with the standard fault repair service. However, Plusnet will make a charge for new and replaced items. If the Customer requests work to repair a fault on items that Plusnet are responsible for maintaining and Plusnet or our suppliers are not able to find a fault, Plusnet will charge the Customer for the visit.
The standard requests for an engineer to visit to perform work, for example moving a socket, is £144 for the first hour and then £72 for each additional hour.
Where we arrange for an engineer to visit the Customer's premises for activation of the service, or for resolution of a fault, the Customer will be responsible for any costs incurred owing to any of the following:
- an engineer attends an incorrect address as provided by the Customer;
- the site for installation does not meet the minimum requirements as agreed during the product registration;
- an engineer arrives to carry out the installation at the address provided by the Customer, but you no longer want the installation completed;
- entry is refused to the premises, or access cannot be gained, at the appointed time, as agreed between Plusnet and the Customer;
- the Customer reports a fault, an engineer attends the Customer premises, and discovers the fault is not the result of the service;
- the Customer reported problem, following request for an engineering visit, cannot be confirmed; and
- when the Customer cancels a request for an engineering visit later than 48 hours before the scheduled visit.
If the Customer reports a fault and Plusnet finds there is none, Plusnet may apply a charge of £115, plus any additional charges that we incur due to any additional time the engineer has to spend on site or equipment he has had to fit over what they would normally fit.
If a new line or cable transfer is required then a fee of £50 will be charged.
If your contract has expired a new line or cable transfer will be provided free of charge if you start a new 24 month contract.
From 2022, a percentage price increase will be applied to the price of broadband, line rental, call plans, call charges and broadband and line rental early termination charges. This price increase will be applied on or after 1st March each year from March 2022, and will be equal to a percentage comprising of i) the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate figure published by the Office for National Statistics in January of that year (ignoring any negative figure) plus ii) 3.9%, and rounded up to the nearest whole pence. If the CPI figure is negative, the price increase will only be 3.9%.
The percentage price increase is applied to the ex VAT price, and if you receive a discount on your price, it will be applied to the discounted ex VAT price.
Where you purchase more than one service from us and each is subject to the price increase, the amount of the increase is calculated on each service separately.
There's more information available in our CPI Plus 3.9% Guide.
We might also change our other charges, and/or make other changes to the price of your broadband, line rental, call plans and/or call charges. We’ll tell you about important changes in advance, and if a change is detrimental you’ll be able to end your contract without any fees.
