Here we'll show you how to configure your domain and explain what the different options mean.

Go to Domain Names in the and click Configure to see the page shown below:

You can choose from three options:

    • POP3 - I want to collect my mail using POP3
Email sent to your domain will be delivered to the mailboxes set up on your account - Read more about mailboxes
    • SMTP - I want mail to this domain to be delivered to my static IP by SMTP
This is for advanced users only - all mail sent to your domain will be forwarded to your accounts static IP address
    • Other - I wish to specify DNS records for mail to this domain
This is for advanced users only - add your own DNS records so all mail sent to your domain will be sent to a static IP address of your choosing - Read more about configuring DNS records

Allow up to 12 hours for changes to take effect.

You can choose from three options:

    • Default - I wish to have this domain hosted automatically under my webspace
Visitors to your domain will go to the webspace root, which is what you see at http://www.your-username.plus.com/
    • Directory /htdocs/
You can use this feature to point your domain to a separate subdirectory of your webspace. This is handy if you are hosting several domains and want each of these to have a separate website. To use this feature:
      1. Connect to your webspace, create a new directory and upload your files to it
      2. Add the directory name to the Directory box
    • Other - I wish to specify DNS records for hosts under this domain
Advanced users who wish to direct web traffic to another webserver can use this option

Allow up to 12 hours for changes to take effect.

Any DNS records that you add are shown here. You can add new records by clicking Configure DNS records.

For more help with this see our Manage DNS Records guide.

Here you can choose what happens to your domain when it reaches its expiry date.

We can either renew the domain for a further two years or allow it to expire.

Check renewal prices on the Domain costs and hosting allowances page.

If you choose to have the domain renewed, we'll do this automatically 30 days before the domain is due to expire. If you do not make a renewal choice then we'll renew your domain as per the above.

If you choose for us not to renew the domain, it'll be suspended for a short time and then made available for others to register.
